Just filed today, for the Republican nomination as Oregon's governor, one Bob Leonard Forthan.

Never heard of him.

what's funny is that some of these non-entities were on the straw poll ballot at Dorchester, but still didn't get a single vote. You'd think if they were serious about running for Governor, they'd spend $100 and drive up for the day just to vote for themselves.

I'll give Ames credit: even though he has no chance of winning, he did get one vote in the straw poll because he was there with a booth asking people to vote for him. No one else did, but at least he tried.

The rest of these people are just trying to have a few minutes of fame by getting their name on a slip of paper at taxpayer expense.
